How to use NASENI-SPENN App

Download the NASENI-SPENN mobile banking app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. You should have: minimum of IOS 9 or Android 4.3 and 3G data speed. Open the App, and register by tapping “Sign Up”. Fill in all the required fields and proceed to verify your phone by selecting “Verify phone”. A 6-digit verification code will be sent via SMS to complete your registration by providing KYC details.

  1. Go to the “transfer” button on the dashboard.
  2. Add recipient by either:
  • Contact on your phone.
  • Entering phone number.
  • QR code.
  1. Enter the amount you want to send/transfer.
  2. Continue
  3. Enter an optional message on the    transaction.
  4. Confirm the transaction by swiping the button to the right.
  1. Go to the “transfer” button on the dashboard.
  2. Choose “Bank account”
  3. Select or search for a bank you want to send money to
  4. Enter the account holder name and the account number
  5. Enter the amount you want to transfer
  6. Continue 
  7. Check the details and the amount you want to send then Swipe to confirm

Tap on “Lock” icon on the dashboard to view balance

Go to the dashboard and tap on “Transactions” button to view transaction details

  1. Tap on “Transfer” on the dashboard
  2. Tap on the switch icon
  3. Choose the person/enter the number you would like to request funds from
  4. Enter the amount and confirm your request
  5. Once the person has approved you will receive a notification

With NASENI-SPENN, you can earn 4% P.A interest on savings.

  1. Click on ”Scan” button on the dashboard  to scan QR code in the store
  2. Add the amount you want to pay
  3. Confirm payment
  1. Click on the “the QR code or your profile” at the top right of the dashboard of the App and then click on the “ Invite friends “ button at the bottom of the screen.
  2. You will see your referral code, click on the “ Let’s go” button to proceed with sending an invite to your friends and family through your preferred channel.

KYC & ACCOUNT VALIDATION

  1. Download the NASENI-SPENN mobile banking app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. You should have: minimum of IOS 9 or Android 4.3 and 3G data speed.
  2. Open the App, and register by tapping “Sign up”.
  3. Choose a country based on where you are (We are currently in Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia and Nigeria)
  4. Enter your phone number.
  5. Fill in the fields provided. For First name and Last name, please fill it according to how it appears in your valid ID.
  6. Proceed with “Verifying your number”. A verification code will be sent via SMS.
  7. When you’ve successfully verified your phone with the verification code received via SMS, click on the “the QR code or your profile” at the top right of the dashboard of the App and then click on “Validate”.
  1. You should have a smartphone: minimum of IOS 9 or Android 4.3 and 3G data speed.
  2. You must be 18 years old to use NASENI-SPENN.
  3. Valid Identification document for KYC verification.

Delivery duration of the verification code is dependent on the local telecom provider, normally it takes from 10-30 seconds, but in rare instances it can take longer. If it happens that even after waiting 10 minutes, you still have not received the verification code, please restart your phone, and try again. If still not being received, please contact our Customer service team for further assistance.

  1. After you’ve successfully verified your phone with the verification code received via SMS, click on the profile tab at the upper right of the App and then click on “Validate”.
  2. Kindly fill in the required details correctly, to match your Identification document. You will be required to have your NIN card during validation.
  3. You will be properly guided through the necessary validation steps in the app. Kindly ensure;
  • National Identification Number(NIN), Names, DOB and Selfie match 100% with your NIN card. If there are discrepancies between the pictures and the typed information, the validation will be rejected.
  • Make sure all text on documents is easily readable.
  • Lighting: If it is a dark or overexposed picture, details may be hard to register. This may confuse our system. Make sure details are properly visible in the photo.
  • Selfies should be clear with all facial features visible. If you are in a country where several types of identification documents are accepted, you can try using another document for validation if the first one is rejected. (Coming soon for Nigeria…).
  • Use a document, which shows the most recent photo of you.
  • No caps, hats, sun glasses or anything that distorts facial features, unless for the special cases i.e. prescribed eyewear are allowed.
  1. The validation process should normally take no longer than 72 hours. Some events may increase the time frame. 
  2. You can see your validation status by clicking on the QR code or your profile at the top right of the dashboard of the App and then click on “Validate”. 
  3.  Contact Customer service if you experience difficulties.

By validating your account, you increase the security of your account, as your identity will be connected to the account. Unverified accounts may be harder to restore if you lose your pin and Security Code. In some areas,Verified accounts have a higher transaction limit and can also transfer for free with other NASENI-SPENN users.

ID documents differ from country to country. Below is a list per market;

Nigeria

  • The NIN card

If your validation was unsuccessful, you will receive an SMS explaining what went wrong. Please make the changes to the validation process and re-send the requested information. If you haven’t heard anything from us in over 7 days, please contact customer service.

TRANSACTIONS

The transactions are instant, and the recipient will find a receipt under his/her “Spending account” immediately. It may however take up to 30 seconds for the transaction to be validated.

If you didn’t receive any confirmation on the transaction, there may have been something wrong with the internet connection. Please check your transaction history under “my money” to see if the transactions went through. If anything is unclear, contact customer service.

If the balance is not updated in your account, there may have been something wrong with the Internet connection. Try refreshing by clicking on “transfer”, then check your transaction history under “my money”. If your balance is still not updated when you have good Internet connection, please contact service.

Once a transaction is processed, it cannot be reversed. Make sure to always enter the correct details when making a transaction.

Transaction limits vary from each country. Check terms and conditions for your country to see the transaction limits relevant to you.

PIN

In order to recover your account and reset the PIN code, enter the Security Code you were given when you signed up.

  1. Login to your NASENI-SPENN account
  2. On the “login page”, click on “Forgot” on the top left of your screen
  3. Enter your NASENI-SPENN Security Code to recover your account
  4. Create a new PIN

If you have verified your account, contact customer service and after answering security questions correctly, they will help you recover your Security Code. 

To reset your PIN code kindly follow the steps below:

  1. From the login page, click “Login” don’t enter your PIN, click on “Forgot” at the top right corner of the page
  2. Enter the temporary security code or wordlist
  3. Enter your PIN code
  4. Re-enter your PIN code
  5. Acknowledge and take note of your new security code or wordlist

(Kindly note, the temporary code expires within one hour.)

SECURITY

Your NASENI-SPENN mobile banking app is secured through a PIN code and a Security Code. You may only access your account through your phone with a PIN code. If you have lost the PIN code, you need to use your Security Code to access the account. In order to access your mobile banking account on a new phone, you need the Security Code first time you log in for security reasons

All information and data is encrypted and secured through multiple firewalls. Through highly automated processes, we also have very restricted access to data from all personnel.

NASENI-SPENN is using the blockchain to ensure a fast, secure and reliable infrastructure.

Blockchain is a way of recording financial transactions in a “public ledger” instead of in a single institution’s database.

If you enter the wrong PIN, you will get an error message indicating so. If you get a different error message, please contact customer service. Screenshots are highly appreciated in order to fix the problem quicker.

By entering the Security Code you were given when you signed up, you will be able to access your NASENI-SPENN account from a new phone. You can only use one phone to log into NASENI-SPENN at all times.

Contact customer service and ask them to deactivate your account.

Corporate

SPENN is a global product but currently has a presence in Philippines, Kenya, India, Pakistan, Rwanda, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zambia,  Mauritius…

NASENI-SPENN is owned by Blockbonds AS.

NASENI-SPENN earns money through agreements with the bank from generated deposits. NASENI-SPENN does not charge/earn any money from the users.
